Reading the Results
Integrated LoudnessThe overall perceived loudness of the track in LUFS (Loudness Units relative to Full Scale). Lower number = quieter. Streaming platforms target between −14 and −16 LUFS.
Sample PeakThe highest individual sample amplitude. Values above 0 dB indicate clipping. Above −0.3 dB triggers a near-clipping warning — leave at least 0.5 dB of headroom before mastering.
Penalty ValuesEach platform card shows the gain adjustment the platform will apply. Negative = your track is louder than target, platform turns it down. Positive = quieter than target, platform may turn it up.
Status Colours
GreenTrack is within ±0.5 dB of the platform target. Passes normalisation cleanly.
AmberTrack will be turned down. Loud master — not a problem for club records, but may impact perceived volume in playlists.
Platform Loudness Targets
Streaming
Spotify−14 LUFS integrated. Uses ReplayGain 2.0 algorithm. Loudness normalisation is on by default across all tiers.
YouTube−14 LUFS. Normalises both music and video content. Content below target may be boosted, adding noise floor.
Apple Music−16 LUFS (Sound Check). Legacy mode targets −14 LUFS. Most modern Apple devices use the stricter −16 LUFS target.
Tidal / Amazon−14 LUFS. Both use BS.1770-based normalisation. Tidal HiFi and Atmos content follows the same target.
Deezer−15 LUFS. Mid-point target, slightly louder than Apple's preference.
Pandora−15 LUFS. Applied to all streams regardless of subscription tier.
D&B / Club Context
Mastering loudDrum & Bass and club records are often mastered at −6 to −9 LUFS for physical formats and DJ use. On streaming, expect 5–8 dB of gain reduction. The dynamic impact is preserved — the platform simply turns it down uniformly.
